Here's how...

To post your job on Monster.co.uk you will need...

Company Details
Job Details
Payment Method
purchase order number if paying by invoice OR credit card details

1 - Log in to your Monster account

Click on the link to Post a Job. Choose your preferred payment method – credit card or invoice. If you are a new user, create a Monster account using your email address and a password (7-20 letters and/or numbers). If you have already created an account, log in using your Monster username and password.

2 - Enter your job details

Provide basic job information (e.g.: job title, status (full or part time), salary range, location, etc.) and your company address. When selecting the location of the job try be as specific as possible so that your job posting appears in the appropriate search results. If your job posting is meant to be advertising a job in Derbyshire, select Derbyshire as the location instead of the Midlands. The exact location such as street address can remain confidential to prevent candidates from showing up at your desk.

3 - Enter a job description

A job description must be a minimum of 200 characters as most candidates will need at least that much text to decide whether or not they will want to apply for the job advertised. Remember, the more information you provide, the higher quality CVs you will receive. Be as specific as possible to avoid a glut of unnecessary CVs in your inbox. Ensure all the key benefits of the job are listed clearly to motivate applications. We also have formatting and spell-check tools to help you to post your job. For more tips on writing an effective job post, please see our Monster Guides.

4 - Streamline your responses

Add filtering questions to streamline your responses by creating screening questions that (e.g.: work experience, career and minimum education levels, etc) will label unqualified candidates as ‘auto-rejected’. You can also manage the job posting responses by ensuring that your job posting is specific and clearly written. You can get help with composing your job posting here.

5 - Add job to your hiring library

If you are recruiting staff for the same or similar job position, you can save the job description to your hiring library. To save a job, simply select the hiring library checkbox. It will then be accessible from your Job Library (located in your Account Activity panel), where it can be edited, copied and deleted.

6 - Select method of contact

You can keep your company details confidential, or choose to receive applications directly to your personal inbox. We recommend that you receive applications online through Monster.co.uk so that you can access them anytime, anywhere. This response option is also the quickest and simplest way for Monster applicants (as their CVs are already uploaded on Monster, all they need do is click once to apply). This option also will help you measure your investment with responses.

7 - Choose advertising area and industry

Simply check the boxes to select the regions and categories in which you would like your job ad to be advertised. If you wish to feature in more than one industry, please note that you will charged for a separate job posting for each industry you select (just as you would if you were to advertise a job post in an accounting newsletter and a corporate banking journal).

8 - Add your company logo (optional)

To ensure your job posting stands out, or if your brand is instantly recognisable, you may want to feature your company logo in your job ad, search listings, or both. Uploaded files should be jpeg or gif, maximum 300KB; 600 x 100 pixels (a logo re-size tool is also provided if your logo has different dimensions). At this stage, you can also choose to access Monster’s CV database if required.

9 - Review your order

Before you send your order to be processed, preview your job posting and check for errors. Also check your order for accuracy and amend your details if necessary before checking out.

10 - Proceed to checkout

Enter your company details and billing information, then confirm your payment method - invoice or credit card. Click Continue to check your order summary, your company and billing information and your job posting for accuracy. You can make changes at this stage where necessary. Tick the box accepting Monster's terms and conditions and complete your purchase.

It's that simple!

You will receive your order confirmation by email, as well as the opportunity to create auto-response letters which will be sent to all applicants. You can use our sample letter if you prefer.

You can log in to your Monster account at any time to check how many candidates have replied to your job ad. Simply click on Active Jobs in the Account Activity panel to view candidate details.
